Thoughts
Let’s start with the elephant in the room.
I live with Functional Neurological Disorder. For me, that means seizure-like episodes, weakness, and times when parts of my body stop working for a while. It also means pain, memory struggles, and a lot of days that don’t go the way I planned.
When you deal with that every day, your mind can get stuck on it. The pain and the medical stuff try to take up all the space. One of the ways I push back is by giving my mind something else to do.
That’s what this page is for.
Some days an idea shows up and won’t leave me alone. It might come while I’m working on a server, reading the news, or just trying to get through a rough afternoon. Writing it down helps me focus on something besides how I feel. It also helps me hold on to thoughts my memory might otherwise lose.
You’ll find a mix of things here: reflections on life, opinions on what’s happening in the world, ideas I’m still working out, and now and then some honesty about what living with FND is really like. Some posts will be polished. Others will be rough, written in the moment.
A note on how I write
Because of my condition, I use accessibility tools to help me get my thoughts onto the page. Sometimes that includes AI assistance to help organize, clean up, or finish what I’m trying to say on days when my body or memory won’t cooperate. The thoughts, opinions, and experiences are mine. The tools just help me share them.
If you’re dealing with chronic illness or pain too, I hope something here helps you feel a little less alone.
Thanks for stopping by.
